Santo have been introduced to Filipinos during the Spanish regime. These holy images were often carved out of wood or precious ivory, are sacred to most Filipino. Santo images have been a part of every Pinoy household, venerating them and putting them on a very regal place on their homes. Venerating the holy images knows as “Santo” does not only connotes devotion to our Catholic faith, but also become an “Art”–undeniably a true form of art.
